Seven plants belonging tofamily Euphorbiaceaewere studied for their AM associationduring the three seasons. The result showed that all the plants vizEuphorbia hirta, Euphorbia geniculata,Euphorbia heterophyll.,Euphorbia microphylla, Euphorbia prostrate, Euphorbia pulcherrima and Euphorbia tirucali had AM fungal association in the roots and spore population in the rhizosphere soil.During rainy season only two genera Acaulospora(1 species) and Glomus(2 species) were recorded. During winter season four genera were observed namely Acaulospora(3 species), Gigaspora(2 species), Glomus(5 species) and Scutellospora (1 species).During summer season three genera were identified Gigaspora (1 species),Glomus(2 species) and Scutellospora(1 species). The chlamydospore count was highest during winter season and lowest during rainy season. Euphorbia tirucali was found highest root colonization in winter as compared to other native hosts screened during the three seasons, whereas Euphorbia microphylla was found negative for arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal colonization.

Activated carbon is made from various agricultural waste by physical and chemical activation. The preparation of activated carbon from waste material could increase economic return and also provides an excellent method for solid waste disposal thereby reduce pollution. This study deals with the use of low cost, easily available ,high efficiency and ecofriendly adsorbent as an ideal alternative to the currently used expensive methods of removing colour from waste water. The potential of chana charcoal for the removal of colour from waste water has been investigated. The adsorption of potassium permanganate on prepared activated carbon was investigated. Photocolorimetry technique was applied. The result indicate that it can act as a good adsorbent
