The growth of population is an important demographic characteristic which not only helps in understanding the population change that a society has undergone, but also helps in predicting the future demographic characteristics of an area. Therefore, it is useful to study and analyze the pattern of population growth.

Knowledge of floristic diversity is essential for understanding ecosystem and its functioning. The present paper deals with the floral diversity of the Panchmahal district of Gujarat in western India. Total 473 plant species were recorded comprises of grasses (14%), herbs (42%), shrubs (6%), trees (28%) and climbers (10%).
